HISTORY OF ASSOCIATION OF MOTOR DEALERS IN ANAMBRA STATE (AMDAS)

The journey of the Association of Motor Dealers in Anambra State began with a vision embodied by Dr. Chukwuebuka N. Bosah (CEO of OKENWA 001 MOTORS). Concerned about the challenges associated with the car dealership business, such as stolen vehicles, fraudulent practices, and car snatching, he set out to form an assembly of car dealers to raise awareness and educate fellow dealers on these dangers. Dr. Bosah conducted research and identified individuals who had attempted to form such an assembly before. He invited them to join forces and form a stronger association, which they named Awka Car Dealers Association. The association held numerous meetings, developed a constitution, and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to legitimize its activities.

In February 2024, the association broadened its scope to cover the entire Anambra State, recognizing the statewide reach of its members. This led to the creation of the Association of Motor Dealers in Anambra State (AMDAS), with Mr. Bosah serving as its inaugural chairman. Under his leadership, the association hosted its first annual workshop titled "A Fight Against Car Theft in Anambra State," which featured distinguished guests and experts in law enforcement and legal affairs. The event aimed to raise awareness and provide practical solutions to mitigate car theft in the region.

Since its inception, AMDAS has remained committed to promoting safety and transparency in car sales and purchases throughout Anambra State. In collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force, the association has helped recover numerous stolen vehicles, establishing itself as a vital contributor to the fight against car theft. Looking ahead, AMDAS remains dedicated to its mission of ensuring Anambra State becomes the safest state for car dealers and buyers in Nigeria, continuing to champion the cause of its members and upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. With the support of its membership, AMDAS has expanded its scope beyond addressing car theft, tackling broader issues such as traffic safety and environmental sustainability.

The association has forged partnerships with government agencies and NGOs to promote responsible driving, advocate for better road infrastructure, and reduce carbon emissions in the transportation sector. As AMDAS looks to the future, it remains focused on staying at the forefront of addressing industry challenges and opportunities, promoting the best interests of its members and the public they serve. Its unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency, and community engagement serves as an inspiration for industry leaders and stakeholders alike. AMDAS's accomplishments and vision have made it a prominent force in Anambra State's automotive industry, inspiring a culture of collaboration, innovation, and civic engagement.

The association's success serves as a model for other industries, demonstrating the potential impact of collective action and leadership. As AMDAS continues to evolve and adapt to changing market conditions, it remains true to its core values of integrity, transparency, and commitment to serving its members and the wider community. The association's unwavering spirit of progress and resilience stands as a testament to the power of collective action and vision.
In conclusion The association's success is a reflection of the collective effort and determination of its members, leaders, and partners, who have worked tirelessly to promote responsible business practices, fight car theft, and advocate for a better future for all.
